The TV series 'Der Bergdoktor' between Kitzsteinhorn and Schmittenhöhe

Dramatic conflicts, passionate relationships and the wildly romantic landscape of the province of Tyrol: what else does it take to lure TV viewers in front of the screen to watch the evening programmes of Austrian ORF and German ZDF?

We’ll definitely keep an eye on physician Dr. Burgner during the up-coming episodes of the series since the team surrounding director Alex de Roche and leading man Hans Sigl came to Zell am See-Kaprun for a shooting. Everyone in the cast agreed: no other region offers more Austria in one spot. Consequently this part of Pinzgau was chosen to represent Tyrol without further ado – in order to be faithful to the story.

The shooting of the second series of ‘Der Bergdoktor’ has started as early as May this year. The entire team was enthralled by picturesque Pinzgau, the snow-covered glacier on Kitzsteinhorn and the culinary delights of the region. Just see for yourself! From January 2009 you can be looking forward to 13 new episodes of the popular medical drama series set in the sleepy village of Sonnenstein in Tyrol.
