Today I would like to tell you about the new ‘Peakworld 3000′ on Kitzsteinhorn.

Kitzsteinhorn’s summit station is not only the highest spot in the province of Salzburg accessible to everyone but from mid-December 2010 it will be an Alpine highlight in the true sense of the word. As soon as the reconstruction works of the summit station will be concluded, the ‘Peakworld 3000′ will enthral visitors to these airy heights with its National Park Gallery and Cinema 3000 boasting a stunning view of and great insights into the Hohe Tauern mountain range. Experience fascination, energy and elation in the Alpine nature of the Hohe Tauern National Park! In addition to these visual highlight, visitors will be surprised at the state-of-the-art infrastructure at more than 3,000 metres above sea level.

An eight-metre-wide screen at the Cinema 3000 invites spectators to enjoy virtually endless panorama pictures of the mountain’s diversified facets. The ‘National Park Gallery’ will be the icing on the cake of Peakworld 3000. From summer 2011, the 360-metre-long gallery will be an extraordinary experience of its own. Currently, five exciting information areas are being installed there which elucidate exciting topics such as technology at an altitude of 3,000 metres, gold and silver deposits at the Hohe Tauern, permafrost, crystal treasures of the Hohe Tauern as well as the evolution of the mountain range and Kitzsteinhorn.

The reconstructed summit station hosting ‘Peakworld 3000′ as well as a new summit restaurant will open its gates in mid-December 2010, while holidaymakers can enjoy the stunning view of the Alpine panorama from the platform from summer of 2011.
Check out the progress at the construction site at an altitude of 3,029 metres above sea level!

Kind regards from Kitzsteinhorn
