St. Patrick’s Day 2012

no comments so far... »

Guinness. Irish Stew. Shamrock. Green. Guinness. That’s what’s coming to my mind when I think of St. Paddy’s day. In Zell am See-Kaprun we are celebrating this day on the slopes: Just have a look at the pictures of the Breiteckalm and you’ll get an impression :-)

After an awesome day on the mountains you could party for example at our Irish Pubs “O’Flannigans” or “A bit of Irish, bitte” (non-smoking pub!). I chose to pay castle Kaprun a visit. They always have a great St. Patrick’s Night Party there.

When I arrived, the Irish folk band “Paddy Whack” rocked the place. The castle itself is just awesome for such an event. The medieval great hall was filled with people dressed in green. I enjoyed my pint of Guinness – it always tastes even better on St. Patrick’s day! The “Whiskey circle Pinzgau” offered a variety of Whiskeys at their bar. One of the members is Rainer Edlinger who wrote lots of postings on this blog. He offered me a very good one and you can ask him almost anything about Whiskeys.

The “soul of the house” Misha did a great job to organize the event and make sure everybody was having a great time. They even sold tasty, fresh cooked Irish stew. As every year St. Patricks Day in Zell am See-Kaprun has been great fun! Experience it yourself next year: 17th of March 2013!

Sláinte!
